College Kickoff 22-23

Rattlers OWN IT on October 12, 2022

We want ALL Rattlers to learn about the options and opportunities after high school. College & Career Kickoff Day (CCKO) is a state-wide event celebrating and promoting College & Career Readiness!

CCKO will be a MINIMUM DAY instead of a late start day, so students will arrive before 8:45 AM and be dismissed at 1:40 PM.

College Kickoff Overview

9th Grade: College & Career Readiness

Freshmen Rattlers will focus on developing four-year plans, exploring college and career inventories, and developing goals for high school to prepare for success.

Students will need their fully charged Chromebook to access the CCGI portal.

10-11th: College Readiness

Sophomore and Junior Rattlers have the option to focus on college and career readiness activities or sign up for the PSAT option.

PSAT Optional Sign Up

Sophomore and Junior Rattlers have the option to focus on college readiness by taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Results are available in December, and counselors will do PSAT presentations in January with students to explain their results and link them to free, customized Khan Academy SAT prep based on their results.
Students will need pencils and a calculator for the PSAT. Students will need Chromebooks for EduGuide.

12th Grade: College & Career Entrance

Senior Rattlers will focus on college entrance by working with teachers, counselors, and college representatives to complete workshops on FAFSA, scholarships, and college applications.

Students will need their fully charged Chromebook and the items from the Senior Checklist for the workshops.
