RMHS History
2005, Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) worked with Sun Cal Development to acquire 80 acres of land for a new high school and elementary school site
2007, PSUSD completed the design of the new high school. Legal challenges delayed the construction of the new high school until the court resolved the concerns
2010, the new mascot – The Rattlers, was chosen by a district wide vote of students and staff
May – 2010, Construction of the new high school began
The City of Rancho Mirage approved naming of the main street in front of the High School Rattler Road
February – 2012, the PSUSD Board of Education approve Rancho Mirage High School as the official name
May – 2012, the PSUSD Board of Education approved the Boundary Committee Community Input recommendation for RMHS’s boundary
Spring – 2013, Construction was scheduled to be complete
Spring – 2013, the school start and end times were determined
August – 2013, Rancho Mirage High School opened
June - 2014, RMHS completed its first school year with 9th - 10th grade students.
June - 2015, RMHS completed its second school year with 9th - 11th grade students.
June - 2016, RMHS completed its third school year with 9th - 12th grade students...1st Graduation on June 2, 2016!
June - 2017, RMHS completed its fourth school year with 9th - 12th grade students...2nd Graduation, 1st 4 year cohort, on June 1, 2017!
